Welcome to Brooklynn Guesthouse, Grantown-on-Spey
Alan and Silvia welcome you to the longest established guesthouse in Grantown. Situated in Grantown-on-Spey, the lovely capital of Strathspey, Brooklynn is a fine example of late Victorian architecture. The building retains most of the original features including its pitch pine woodwork, stained glass windows and ornate coving.
If you arrive before 5pm you will be welcomed with a cup of tea or coffee and homemade cake in the lounge.
Grantown itself is an interesting Highland town with a good selection of shops, tea rooms, restaurants and a tree lined square. If you are looking to check out your Scottish family background, you could start at the Museum. If mountain biking is your thing, you can hire bikes and ride locally or on the mountain bike track in our wonderful Anagach Woods. Capercaille and Crossbill can be found in the woods which are owned by the community. There are well marked paths for pedestrians and also for wheelchair access. There are two golf courses in Grantown for our guests’ enjoyment and many outdoor activities can be arranged, from archery to kayaking on the River Spey. Walks around Grantown abound and of course The Cairngorms offer a range of mountain activities.
Of course Grantown is in Speyside which is famous for malt whiskies and many of the distilleries are open to visitors. Castles, gardens and many other tourist attractions are all nearby. A short distance away is the beautiful Moray Coast – the Riviera of Scotland – with pretty coastal towns, fishing villages and wonderful beaches with pebbles, fine sand and dunes. There is so much more for you to explore.
We have ample private parking and secure storage for bicycles and golf equipment. We can also provide drying facilities for walkers who get caught out by the Highland weather. There is free Wifi throughout the house. We have a restricted licence for guests to enjoy a selection of wines, local beers and, of course, Speyside malts.
